Modern cytometry methods allow collecting complex, multi-dimensional data sets from heterogeneous cell populations at single-cell resolution. While methods exist to describe the progression and order of cellular processes from snapshots of such populations, these descriptions are limited to arbitrary pseudotime

Questions

1–5 of 5 Questions
  1. What is the emission wavelength of Pyronin Y, Product 83200?

    1 answer
    1. The emission is at 570 nm when dissolved in water.

      Helpful?

  2. Has Pyronin Y, Product 83200, been use-tested for the demonstration of RNA?

    1 answer
    1. No. There are, however, two other Pyronin products from Sigma-Aldrich which should be suitable.  Product No. P9172 has been used to stain RNA in polyacrylamide gels.  Product No. 213519 was submitted to the Biological Stain Commission for certification.  Testing was performed by the Biological Stain Commission to ensure the Pyronin Y stained RNA in tissue sections.

      Helpful?

  3. What is the Department of Transportation shipping information for this product?

    1 answer
    1. Transportation information can be found in Section 14 of the product's (M)SDS.To access the shipping information for this material, use the link on the product detail page for the product.

      Helpful?

  4. What is the solubility of Pyronin Y, Product 83200, in water and ethanol?

    1 answer
    1. Solubility is not tested at Sigma Aldrich, but the literature reports solubility up to 9% (i.e., 90 mg/mL) in water and 0.6% (6 mg/mL) in ethanol.

      Helpful?

  5. Is there a prepared solution of Methyl Green and Pyronin Y for the demonstration of plasma cells and RNA in tissue sections?

    1 answer
    1. Yes, product HT70116 is available in pre-made form.  The product is approved for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.
