Description

Application

Selective agar for the detection of pathogenic staphylococci in food and other material acc. to Chapman (modified).

Preparation Note

Dissolve 111 g in 1 litre distilled water. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. Pour plates.

Other Notes

Primary screening medium for detection and identification of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus[1]; Modified medium for the recovery of Staphylococcus from water[2]
