Description

General description

Native glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase from Leuconostoc mesenteroides. Catalyzes the conversion of glucose-6-phosphate to 6-phosphogluconate. The enzyme can use either NAD⁺ or NADP⁺ as an electron acceptor. Reaction velocity with NAD⁺ is ~1.8 times greater than that with NADP⁺. Note: 10,000 NADP units are equivalent to ~18,000 NAD units.

Preparation Note

Reconstitute to 1 mg/ml in 5 mM glycine buffer, pH 8.0. Agitation of solution may cause precipitation.
