Questions

  1. Is there a a kit for non-gynecological (gyn) specimens?

    1 answer
    1. Kits for the Papanicolaou (PAP) stains have never been offered. Instead, the individual components need to be ordered separately. For non-gynecological specimens, EA65 is typically used. The catalog numbers for Papanicolaou Stain EA65 are HT40432-1L or 7054X (4L).

In addition to the EA65, it is necessary to order a hematoxylin, typically Gill's 1 or Gill's 2, and OG-6. These are generally available in a range of package sizes. A blueing agent may or may not be needed. Xylenes or xylene substitutes and various graded alcohols are also required, all of which can be found on the website or can be used from what is already available.
