Description

General description

Sodium taurolithocholate is a bile salt with detergent qualities that give it the ability to solubilize insoluble lipids. [1]

Application

Sodium taurolithocholate has been used in a study to assess factors controlling the gastrointestinal adsorption of petroleum hydrocarbon residues. [2] It has also been used in a study to investigate the decrease in activity of Na+, K+-adenosinetriphosphatase (Na+, K+-ATPase) in rats where cholestasis had been induced. [3]
