L-Glutamine, 200 mM solution, tends to precipitate in solution when chilled. After thawing, it will be an opalescent solution. If allowed to settle, there can be some crystalline insolubles at the bottom of the bottle.The product should be warmed to 37°C for complete solubilization. To limit the number of times the product needs to be warmed to 37°C, the product can be divided into working aliquots which are stored at -20°C and used as needed. This will expose the product to the minimal amount of warming cycles.

Allgemeine Beschreibung
L-Glutamin ist eine essenzielle Aminosäure, die als entscheidender Bestandteil von Nährmedien eine wichtige Energiequelle für Zellen in Kultur darstellt. L-Glutamin ist als Trockenpulver und als gefrorene Lösung sehr stabil. In Flüssigmedien oder Stammlösungen wird L-Glutamin jedoch relativ schnell abgebaut. Für optimales Zellwachstum muss das Nährmedium normalerweise vor der Verwendung mit L-Glutamin ergänzt werden.
Anwendung
The L-Glutamine solution has been used as a supplement in Roswell Park Memorial Institute (RPMI)-1640 medium to culture human leukemia monocytic cell line for intracellular assay and splenocytes for in vitro activation of CD4+ T cells. It has also been used as a supplement to the hybridoma medium used for primary screening for antigen binding and hybridoma cloning.
