Tizanidine hydrochloride is known to function as a skeletal muscle relaxant that acts centrally. Furthermore, this relaxant functions at spinal and supraspinal levels to block excitatory interneurons. This drug is used for the symptomatic relief of spasticity and painful muscle spasms[1].
