N-Succinyl-Ala-Ala-Ala-p-nitroanilide is a chromogenic substrate for chymotrypsin-like serine protease,[1] pancreatic elastase and serine endopeptidase.

Application

N-Succinyl-Ala-Ala-Ala-p-nitroanilide has been used as a substrate

• for screening elastase activity in lyophilized earthworm fibrinolytic enzymes
• for quantifying elastase activity in sheep milk
• in screening honeybee inhibitors in serine protease inhibition assay[2]
