卵白トリプシン阻害薬は、血清フリー細胞培養培地でトリプシン、プラスミンおよび血漿カリクレインの活性に対する阻害薬です。メタロプロテアーゼ、システインプロテアーゼおよびアスパラギン酸プロテアーゼあるいは組織カリクレイン（セリンプロテアーゼ）を阻害しません。
