FliC (Flagellin) ist die Protein-Untereinheit, die durch seine Polymerisation bakteriellen Flagella-Filamente bildet. Das Protein hat vier Domänen (D0, D1, D2, D3).[2]
Biochem./physiol. Wirkung
Es stimuliert auch die Produktion von proinflammatorischen Mediatoren: Stickstoffoxid, Interleukin 1 (IL-1), IL-6, IL-8 und Tumornekrosefaktor α.[3]
