Cholesterin wurde für die Präparation von immunstimulierenden Komplexen verwendet, um die zellulären und humoralen Immunantworten zu verstärken.[1] Es wurde Tierfutter beigemischt, um die Auswirkungen einer cholesterinreichen Ernährungsweise zu untersuchen.[2][3]

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung
Cholesterin ist ein Lipid, das zwischen 20 und 25 % der Strukturkomponenten in Zellmembranen ausmacht. Es bestimmt die Fluidität und Durchlässigkeit der Membran und macht sie für Wasser durchlässig, nicht aber für Ionen und Protonen. Cholesterin reguliert die Transportfunktionen und signalisiert das Vorhandensein von Proteinen auf der Plasmamembran.[4] Die Cholesterinsynthese erfolgt hauptsächlich im Dünndarm und in der Leber.[5]
Hauptbestandteil biologischer Membranen; ca. 25% des gesamten Lipids im Gehirn ist Cholesterin.
Angaben zur Herstellung
Cholesterin-Monohydrat bildet in heißem Alkohol eine klare, farblose bis leicht gelbliche Lösung. Es ist auch in Aceton, Dioxan, Ethylacetat, Benzol, Petrolether, Ölen, Fetten und in wässrigen Gallensalzlösungen löslich. Die Lösungen sollten vor Licht geschützt aufbewahrt werden.

If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life.
