Heparin-abbauende Lyase, die Heparansulfat-Proteoglykane als ihr primäres Substrat erkennt.
Heparinase III verhindert die Bildung neuer Blutgefäße in vivo.[4] Sie spaltet spezifisch Heparinsulfat an den Verbindungen HNY-I und HNY,6X-G2. Anders als andere Heparinasen enthält Heparinase III nicht die Aminosäure Cystein. Sie enthält 13 Histidinreste, die für ihre katalytische Wirkung verantwortlich sind.[5] Dieses Enzym wirkt nicht auf Heparin oder Heparine mit geringem Molekulargewicht.
Einheitendefinition
Eine Einheit bildet 0,1 μMol ungesättigter Uronsäure pro Stunde bei einem pH-Wert von 7,5 und einer Temperatur von 25 °C. Eine internationale Einheit (IE) entspricht ca. 600 Sigma-Einheiten. Die Packungsgrößen werden in Sigma-Einheiten vertrieben.
