Allgemeine Beschreibung

Oxidase-Streifen sind ein schneller diagnostischer Test für den Nachweis der Zytochrom-Oxidaseaktivität von Mikroorganismen. Der Oxidase-Test ist ein wichtiges Differenzierungsverfahren, das mit allen zu identifizierenden gramnegativen Bakterien durchgeführt wird. In Gegenwart des Enzyms Zytochrom-Oxidase (von gramnegativen Bakterien erzeugt) reagieren N,N-Dimethyl-phenylendiamin und auf den Streifen imprägniertes Alpha-Naphthol zu Indophenolblau, das durch einen Farbumschlag sichtbar wird.

Anwendung

Oxidase-Streifen werden für den Nachweis der Oxidaseproduktion durch Mikroorganismen wie Neisseria, Alcaligenes, Aeromonas, Vibrios, Campylobacter und Pseudomonas eingesetzt.
