General description

BACTIDENT^™ E. coli-Teststreifen sind imprägniert mit 4-Methylumbelliferyl-β-D-Glucuronid (MUG), das gespalten wird, um in Gegenwart von β-D-Glucuronidase 4-Methylumbelliferon zu bilden. Die hellblaue Fluoreszenz nach Exzitation mittels langwelligem UV-Licht weist auf vorhandene Enzyme hin. Die Tryptophanase-Aktivität wird bestätigt, wenn die Bakteriensuspension nach Zugabe von KOVACS-Reagenz aufgrund der Indolbildung eine rote Färbung aufweist.

Application

BACTIDENT^™ E. coli wird für Keimbelastungsprüfungen in Trinkwasser verwendet. Dieser Test ermöglicht den schnellen Nachweis von koliformen Organismen (E. coli),), indem die Bakterienkultur auf das Vorhandensein der Enzyme β-D-Glucuronidase und Tryptophanase getestet wird.
