FliC（フラジェリン）は、重合して細菌の鞭毛のフィラメントを形成するサブユニットタンパク質です。このタンパク質は、4つのドメイン（D0、D1、D2、D3）を持っています。[1]
コードされているフラジェリンフィラメントは、55kDaのモノマーを含みます。[2]
生物化学的／生理学的作用
FliC（フラジェリン）は、TLR5（トール様受容体5）によって先天性免疫システムを活性化する、重要な炎症促進性分子です。[1][3] FliCはまた、抗体の産生も誘導し、CD4+T細胞によって抗原として認識されます。[4]
また、以下の炎症促進性メディエーターの産生を刺激します：一酸化窒素、インターロイキン1（IL-1）、IL-6、IL-8、および腫瘍壊死因子α。[5]
