生物化学的／生理学的作用

HMGXB4 is a negative regulator of Wnt signaling, a pathway of interest in psychotic bipolar affective disorder (BPAD). The gene expression is correlated with the smooth muscle cell (SMC) synthetic phenotype. Overexpression of this gene in SMCs down-regulates smooth muscle marker expression. HMGXB4 plays an important role in attenuating smooth muscle differentiation.
