General description
DAPI ist ein Indolenin-Farbstoff. Er umfasst zwei Amidin-Komponenten; eine auf einem seitenständigen Phenylring und eine weitere direkt an der Indol-Einheit.
Application
DAPI, Dilactat wird zur Kernfärbung in Zellen eingesetzt. DAPI ist eine gängige Färbung für die Durchflusszytometrie, die verbreitet als DNA- und Kernfärbung eingesetzt wird. Außerdem wird sie als Gegenfärbung nach der In-situ-Hybridisierung und anderen Immunfluoreszenzverfahren eingesetzt.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Ein Farbstoff mit hoher Empfindlichkeit, der zum Nachweis von einzelnen Nukleinsäure-Molekülen verwendet wird. Es wurde gezeigt, dass DAPI ein einziges DNA-Molekül in Lösung erkennen kann, sowie Femtogrammmengen von DNA in einzelnen Zellen und Chloroplasten detektieren kann.

Can Product D9564, DAPI dilactate (DAPI-DNA), be used as a vital stain?

As we note in the Product Information Sheet for the Dihydrochloride salt of DAPI, Product No. D9542, DAPI can be used as a vital dye to stain mature pollen grains, but we have tested it as a vital stain in other cell types.

Isn't the hydrochloride salt form of DAPI a more sensitive detector of DNA than Product D9564, DAPI, dilactate (DAPI-DNA)?

The dilactate salt has as much sensitivity in detection as the dihydrochloride salt, which we also offer as Product No. D9542.
