Fluoxetine hydrochloride is an antidepressant drug and a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, which is widely used for the treatment of major depressive disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder and panic fits.[1][2]

Applicazioni

Fluoxetine hydrochloride may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in biological fluids[1][2] using various chromatography techniques.

Fluoxetine hydrochloride may be used as an antidepressant, since it can selectively inhibit the serotonin uptake in the brain.[3][4] It may also be used in the management of a variety of psychiatric and metabolic derangements.[3]
