Anwendung

25-NBD Cholesterol is suitable:

• as a cholesterol source in De Man, Rogosa and Sharpe (MRS) broth used for qualitative cholesterol assimilation study[1]
• for use in the outer lipid coating step during the preparation of fluorescently labelled lipid-coated calcium phosphate (LCP)- gemcitabine monophosphate (GMP)[2]
• for liposome preparation[3]

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Nitrobenzoxadiazolyl (NBD) cholesterol is a fluorescently tagged cholesterol, useful to differentiate exogenous and endogenous cholesterol in bacterial cell membrane. The NBD cholesterol is indicated as green colour in fluorescent signals.[1]
