生物化学的／生理学的作用
オロキシリンAは、韓国、中国、日本の伝統医学において最も重要な薬草の一つであるコガネバナから単離されたフラボノイドです。Aβペプチド(25-35)による記憶障害がオロキシリンAによって回復するという作用は、単回投与後のGABA作動性神経伝達系を介したものであるか、あるいは亜慢性投与の後、Aβ(25-35)が誘導するアストロサイト、ミクログリアの活性化やiNOSの発現、脂質過酸化を低下させ、コリン作動性神経伝達を亢進することによるものと考えられています。
Oroxylin A is a flavonoid isolated from Scutellaria baicalensis, which is one of the most important medicinal herbs in traditional Korean/Chinese/Japanese medicine. It shows amelioration of Abeta(25-35) peptide-induced memory impairment.
