DL-メチオニンは硫黄を含む必須アミノ酸です[1]。メチオニンは 1 つの不斉炭素を持ち D（右旋性） and L （左旋性）光学異性体が存在します。L-メチオニンが生物学的に活性があると考えられています。D およびL 異性体のラセミ混合体が、市販されている DL メチオニンを形成します。[2]

アプリケーション

DL‐メチオニンはナイルティラピア（チカダイ）の成長効果の研究と餌としての利用に用いられています[3]。また、動物モデルの標準的な餌の一部としても用いられています。[4][5]

生物化学的／生理学的作用

DL-メチオニンはアミノ酸の 1 種であり酸化的ストレスからの防御の役割があります。
メチオニンは髪、皮膚および爪に関する不調から保護します。肝臓におけるレシチンの生産を高めることによりコレステロールのレベルを下げます。自然に重金属キレート剤として作用し、尿中のアンモニア濃度を調節します。このことは膀胱刺激を改善します。メチオニンはまた頭髪の成長を誘導することが知られています。[1]

  1. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.
