本抗体は、リコンビナントヒトIL-1βの生物活性を中和します。 リコンビナントヒトIL-α、リコンビナントマウスIL-1α、リコンビナントマウスIL-1βに対する中和活性はありません。この抗体をマイクロプレ-トに固定化した場合、天然およびリコンビナントヒトIL-1βが捕獲されます。イムノブロッティングにおける抗体の交差反応性は、リコンビナントラットIL-1βの場合約25%であり、リコンビナントマウスIL-1βおよびリコンビナントブタIL-1βでは5%未満です。さらに、イムノブロッティングにおいてリコンビナントマウスIL-α、リコンビナントヒトIL-1ra、リコンビナントマウスIL-1ra、リコンビナントラットIL-1αとの交差反応性は認められません。
