生物化学的／生理学的作用

クロロフィルaは、酸素発生型光合成に不可欠な色素です。光化学系において、アンテナ色素としてだけでなく、反応中心IおよびIIとして存在しています。[3]クロロフィルaは、400～450 nmおよび640～660 nmの範囲の光を吸収する青緑色の色素です。光合成において、クロロフィルによって吸収されたエネルギーが、二酸化炭素と水を炭水化物と酸素に変換します。クロロフィルが光エネルギーを吸収すると、クロロフィル中の電子が低エネルギー状態から高エネルギー状態へと励起されます。エネルギーが高まったこの状態では、電子は他の分子へと転送されやすくなります。これにより電子伝達ステップの連鎖が開始され、最後に電子が二酸化炭素へと転送されます。[4]

    1. This product is soluble in ethanol (10 micrograms/mL). It is also freely soluble in acetone, benzene, and chloroform, but is not soluble in water. However, its spectral characteristics are most well characterized for solutions in diethyl ether.
