The gene ACCS (1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate synthase-like protein 1) is mapped to human chromosome 11p11.2. It belongs to α-family of PLP (pyridoxal-5′-phosphate)-dependent enzymes.

Anwendung

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

The protein 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate synthase-like protein 1 (ACCS) exhibits 30% sequence identity to plant ACCSs. However, it does not catalyze the synthesis of ACC. It is responsible for deamination of L-vinylglycine. ACCS has been shown to be associated with IgA (immunoglobulin A) nephropathy.
