To prepare 5M solution of Betaine in water, dissolve 29.288 grams of Betaine in 50 ml of nuclease-free distilled or deionized water, and the stock solution should be stored at -20°C. There are no specific requirements for heat or sonication during the preparation process, but the stock solution should be filtered through a 0.22 micron filter before use. Additionally, a stir plate and a stir bar may be used if the powder dissolves slowly.
