Opis ogólny

Red fluorescent protein drFP583 (UniProt: Q9U6Y8; also known as DsRed) is a fluorescent protein that serves as a useful and ubiquitous tool for making chimeric proteins, where it can function as a fluorescent protein tag. Fluorescent proteins serve as useful tools for making chimeric proteins and function as fluorescent protein tag. They can tolerate N- and C-terminal fusion to a broad variety of proteins. DsRed is a stable homotetrameric protein with high quantum yield and is derived from coral Discosoma. It is an 11-stranded beta-can with a central alpha-helix and its each monomer is structurally similar to GFP. DsRed has an orange-red fluorescence and is excited optimally at 558 nm, but can also be excited by a standard 488 nm laser, allowing it to be used with laser-based confocal microscopes and flow cytometers. DsRed offers stability to changes in external pH and its spectral properties are ideal for dual-color experiments with green fluorescent protein (Ref.: Bevis, BJ., and Glick, BS (2002). Nat. Biotech. 20; 83-87).

Specyficzność

This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects Red fluorescent protein drFP583. It targets an epitope within 6 amino acids from the N-terminal region.

Immunogen

Epitope: N-terminus

Przechowywanie i stabilność

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
