Made of nickel-chromium-iron alloy 601 for resistance to corrosion, high temperature, carbonization or sulfidation, and oxidation in the 1,000 to 1,200°C range. Retains mechanical strength at elevated temperature.
Suitable for use in determining moisture, volatiles, fixed-carbon and ash in most coal and coke products, or wood pulp or fiber. Also suitable for drying and ashing biological materials whose residues are soluble in dilute acid or alkali for subsequent analysis.
Not for trace-level determinations of nickel, chromium, or iron.
