Carboxensは、ポリマー前駆体から設計された高度に設計された合成炭素吸着剤です。これらの粒子は樹脂のように塑性変形することも、活性炭のように微粒子を生成することもありません。これらの物質は乾燥させて出荷・保管されます。これらの誘導体化樹脂は、低分子不純物と高分子不純物を除去するための幅広い精製用途に役立ちます。気相精製および液相精製に使用されます。例としては、医薬品有効成分（API）からの均一触媒の除去、mAbからの宿主細胞タンパク質などの生化学精製における高リスク不純物、有毒重金属の除去、塩素化分子の精製、抽出物や浸出物の除去などが挙げられます。テーパー状の細孔により、吸着および脱着に関する熱力学特性と速度論的特性が改善されています。Carboxensは、細孔構造（ミクロ、メソ、マクロ）の相対的な割合、表面積、および表面pHが異なります。
