Applicazioni

Sodium borohydride (NaBH₄) is a stable hydrogen carrier, which can be used as a chemical hydrogen storage material. It can also be used as an anodic fuel for alternative energy applications such as the fabrication of fuel cells. NaBH₄ can also be used in the reduction of graphene oxide in the presence of CaCl₂ as a catalyst.[1][2][3][1]

Sodium borohydride can be used to prepare:

• Silica-coated silver nanoparticles, which are functionalized with various vitamins and antibiotics as bioactive materials.[4][5]
• Water-soluble oligoamine conjugated chitosans for biomedical applications.[6]
• Gold nanoparticles coated with poly(methacrylic acid), which are used for theranostic applications.[7]
