DL-α-Glycerol phosphate is a racemic mixture of the D- and L-glycerophosphate enantiomers.

Application

DL-α-Glycerol phosphate magnesium salt hydrate has been used:
  • in oxidase and dehydrogenase assays
  • as a component of the osteoblast differentiation medium
  • for mineralization of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogels containing alkaline phosphatase designed for osteochondral regeneration


DL-a-Glycerol phosphate may be used to assess the lysogenic-strain features of agalactiae bacteriophages
