Complement, Rabbit Serum is a native, rabbit serum complement. Tested for suitability for HLA-ABC serology. Total lympholytic complement activity determined under conditions of NIH two-step cytotoxicity test that uses defined HLA isoantisera. Activity present at a titer of at least 1:4. No intrinsic cytotoxicity against human peripheral blood lymphocytes. Intended for micro and macro lymphocyte cytotoxicity testing with human or animal sera. Also useful as an active source of complement for use with hybridoma antibodies, alloantisera, and related applications in which a non-cytotoxic source is required.
Aplicación
Complement, rabbit serum has been used:
in complement killing of fibroblasts for the isolation of Schwann cells (SCs)[1]
as a component of Dulbecco′s modified Eagle medium (DMEM) for the purification of SC cells[2]
Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C) for long-term storage or refrigerate (4°C) for short-term storage. Stock solutions are stable for 24 h at 4°C or for up to 1 month at -20°C.
Reconstitute with 5 ml of dH₂O.

Fast neural conduction requires accumulation of Na(+) channels at nodes of Ranvier. Dedicated adhesion molecules on myelinating cells and axons govern node organization. Among those, specific laminins and dystroglycan complexes contribute to Na(+) channel clustering at peripheral nodes by unknown
Transient receptor potential vanilloid 4 (TRPV4) is a non-selective calcium-permeable cation channel that is widely expressed and activated in various neurons and glial cells in the nervous system. Schwann cells (SCs) are primary glia cells that wrap around axons to
In the developing peripheral nervous system, Schwann cells (SCs) extend their processes to contact, sort, and myelinate axons. The mechanisms that contribute to the interaction between SCs and axons are just beginning to be elucidated. Using a SC-neuron coculture system
