General description
Il terreno di coltura M199 consiste in una combinazione di vitamine, amminoacidi e altri fattori ed è stato inizialmente sviluppato come terreno a formulazione completamente definita per la coltura di espianti primari. Se adeguatamente integrato, questo terreno trova ampia applicabilità, in particolare per coltivare cellule non trasformate. Il terreno M19 trova uso nella produzione di vaccini, nella coltura in vitro di espianti pancreatici primari e nei tessuti del cristallino.

Application
Medium 199 has been used:
- as a suspension media to maintain the primary neuronal cultures
- as a component of the collagen gel for ex vivo embryonic heart culture
- to maintain the ovarian tissue sections as part of the slow-freezing protocol
