Descrizione generale

Lucifer yellow CH is a fixable dye with an excitation and emission spectrum of 430 nm and 540 nm, respectively.[1]LuciferYellow CH (LYCH) is a small, hydrophilic molecule,[2] and highly fluorescent dye that is used for intracellular staining for the studies conducted on various types of cells.[3] It acts as a marker for the detection of well-established tight junctions[2] in smooth muscles, glia, and interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC).[3]

Applicazioni

Lucifer yellow CH dipotassium salt has been used:
  • to visualize cell morphology[1]
  • to assess intercellular communication activity through gap junction by scrape-loading assay[4][5]
  • as a component of the intracellular solution, which filled the dendrites for the visualization of neuronal morphology[6]
  • in the intracellular solution, to intracellularly label recorded neurons[7]

    1. At M-Clarity quality level 100, Product L0144 is evaluated based on appearance, infrared spectrum, solubility, and fluorescence specifications. Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis found on the DOCUMENTATION section of the Product Detail Page: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/product/sigma/l0144#product-documentation

      Using the results on the specification sheet, dye content can be calculated from the testing performed to determine carbon and nitrogen levels.

  2. What is the stability and shelf life for product L0144, lot SHBN6250 once it has been prepared in a solution?

    1. The product is soluble in water at a concentration of 1 mg/mL, producing a clear, yellow-orange colored solution. It is also soluble in water with heat at a concentration of 10 mg/mL, resulting in a slightly hazy orange colored solution. Additionally, a solution stability test revealed that a solution of L0144 in water at a concentration of 1.7 mg/mL, stored in the dark at room temperature for 32 days, showed no detectable change in the UV-VIS spectrum.
