Taurin hat folgende Anwendungen:
  • als Bestandteil von Kardiomyozyten-Dissoziationslösung[1]
  • als Zusatz zu m-SOF-Medium (modifizierte synthetische Eileiterflüssigkeit) zur Kultivierung der mutmaßlichen Zygoten[2]
  • als Bestandteil einer Lösung mit niedrigem Ca2+ Gehalt zur Herstellung von Kollagenase-B-Lösung, die zur Dissoziation von Kolonien in einzelne Zellen dient[3]
  • für die Beurteilung seiner Wirkung auf Rinderembryonen, die bei der In-vitro-Befruchtung mit dem Sperma unterschiedlicher Bullen befruchtet wurden[4]
  • als Bestandteil von Kulturmedium für die Derivatisierung von Hornhaut-Organoiden[5]

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Nicht selektiver, endogener Agonist an Glycin-Rezeptoren.
Nicht selektiver, endogener Agonist an Glycin-Rezeptoren. Bedingt essentielle sulfonierte Aminosäure, die in manchen Zellen die Apoptose moduliert; spielt eine Rolle in zahlreichen Stoffwechselvorgängen; ist ein Produkt des Methionin- und Cysteinstoffwechsels
Taurin wird vorwiegend in der Retina und im Herzen gefunden, daneben auch in Gehirn, Innereien, Skelettmuskulatur und Nieren. Es regelt die intrazelluläre Calciumkonzentration, schützt vor ischämischen Reperfusionsschäden und besitzt blutdrucksenkende Eigenschaften. Ebenso spielt Taurin eine wichtige Rolle für die Gallebildung und den Fettverdau. Ein Taurinmangel steht mit der Entwicklung von Angststörungen, Hyperaktivität, Epilepsie und Depression in Verbindung.[6]

  1. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  2. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.   3. What are the recommendations for suspension and storage?

    1. This product is tested for solubility in water at 25 mg/mL. Other solvents have not been investigated. While this material is expected to be stable in solution, stability studies have not been performed. Other sources suggest that stock solutions are stable in aliquots at -20°C.
