Allgemeine Beschreibung
Humanes Präalbumin ist ein Produkt des Chromosoms 18. Es ist ein Serumprotein, das hauptsächlich in der Leber synthetisiert wird.[1] Es ist ein tetrameres Protein mit einem Molekulargewicht von 55 kDa. Humanes Präalbumin besteht aus vier identischen, nicht kovalent gebundenen Monomeren mit 127 Aminosäureresten, die tetraedrisch symmetrisch angeordnet sind.[2]
Anwendung
Humanes Präalbumin wurde verwendet, um die reduzierte Transthyretin-Expression in Seren von Lungenkrebs zu untersuchen.[3]
Biochem./physiol. Wirkung
Der Präalbuminspiegel ist ein Indikator für Mangelernährung und kann während einer Entzündung moduliert werden.[6] Er gilt als potenzieller Marker für eine Protein-Energie-Mangelernährung (PEM) bei der Dialyse für chronisches Nierenversagen.[7] Niedrige Präalbuminspiegel stellen ein hohes Risiko für eine Herzinsuffizienz (HF) dar.[8]
Humanes Präalbumin wurde in Karzinoidtumoren beobachtet.[1]
