Allgemeine Beschreibung

Olivenöl ist reich an der phenolischen Komponente Squalenglucosid. Natives Olivenöl extra (VOQ) ist reich an Antioxidantien und ein potenzieller Fänger von reaktivem Sauerstoff.[1] Olivenöl ist reich an einfach ungesättigten, langkettigen Fettsäuren und ist nicht anfällig für Oxidation. Olivenöl beeinträchtigt die Xanthinoxidase-Aktivität und könnte das Potenzial haben, die Tumorprogression zu modulieren.[2] Die Biophenole im Olivenöl können einen Schutz bei Stoffwechselstörungen, Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen und Neurodegeneration bewirken.[3]

Anwendung

Olivenöl wurde als orale Nahrungsergänzung für die metabolische Phänotypisierung bei Mäusen verwendet[4]. Es wird zur Auflösung von Vitamin E[5], Molkenprotein[6] und Medikamenten verwendet.[7]

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Die gesundheitlichen Vorteile von Olivenöl ergeben sich aus seinem höheren Anteil an einfach ungesättigten Fettsäuren sowie aus seinen antioxidativen Bestandteilen, nämlich Hydroxytyrosol, Oleuropein und Oleocanthal.

  1. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.     1. According to the chemicals encyclopedia published by the Royal Society of Chemistry, 12th ed., Entry# 6965, oleic acid is soluble in alcohol, benzene, chloroform, ether, fixed and volatile oils, but is practically insoluble in water.

    1. This product comes as undiluted material.  Using a density of 0.89 g/mL at 25  °C and a molecular weight value of 282.46 g/mol, the molarity of the oleic acid is about 3.15 M.
