Anwendung

Samarium(II)-iodid (SmI2) kann als Reagenz für folgende Synthesen verwendet werden:
  • Benzannulierte Pyrrolizidinalkaloide und Indolizidine mittels SmI2-induzierten Zyklisierungen von Indol-Derivaten[1]
  • Chirale 4-substituierte 2-Oxazolidinone und 5,5-disubstituierte Oxazolidinone mittels asymmetrischer Reaktion nach Reformatsky[2]
  • γ-Aminoalkyl-substituierte γ-Butyrolactone mittels Ketyl-Alken-Kopplungsreaktion.[3]

Es kann ferner wie folgt eingesetzt werden:
  • Reduktion von konjugierten Doppel- und Dreifachbindungen zu Alkenen unter Verwendung von SmI2-/H2O-/Amin-Mischungen[4]
  • Umwandlung von β-Hydroxyketonen in 1,3-Diole mittels SmI2/H2O/Et3N[5]
  • Selektive Reduktion von 6-gliedrigen Lactonen zu den entsprechenden Diolen/Triolen unter Verwendung eines SmI2-H2O-Reagenzsystems[6]

SmI2 ist ein wirkungsvolles Ein-Elektron-Reduktionsmittel, das die Keton-Olefin- und Pinakol-Kupplungsreaktionen sowie Ketyl-Aryl-Zyklisierungen unter milden Bedingungen begünstigt.[7][8][9] Häufig verlaufen intramolekulare[10] wie intermolekulare[10] Kupplungen in stark stereoselektiver Weise. Es wird auch bei der Synthese von neuen heteroleptischen Samarium-Aryloxid/Cyclopentadienid-Komplexen verwendet.[11][12]

Die 25-ml-Sure/Seal™-Flasche wird für den Einmalgebrauch empfohlen. Wiederholte Einstiche führen höchstwahrscheinlich zu einer Leistungsminderung des Produkts.

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.   2. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.
