Guardgel Kit for 7.5mmID TSKgel Boronate-5PW columns

High efficiency, resin-based TSKgel affinity columns (10 μm particles) separate or purify many enzymes and other proteins.

Coupling of m-aminophenyl boronate to TSKgel 5PW polymeric support results in a ligand capable of forming a tetrahedral boronate anion under alkaline pH conditions. This anionic structure can bind with 1,2 cis-diol groups such as those found in carbohydrates, carbohydrate containing compounds and catecholamines. Interaction between the boronate anion and the 1,2 cis-diol groups is enhanced in the presence of Mg2+ ions and is inhibited by amine-containing buffers. Adsorption onto the TSKgel Boronate-5PW matrix takes place in basic buffers such as HEPES and morpholine while desorption takes place in carbohydrate or amine-containing mobile phase like sorbitol or Tris.

Applications include: nucleic acids, catecholamines, nucleosides and nucleotides.

TSKgel Guardgel kits contain:
  • 5 mL Guardgel packing material
  • Column holder, consisting of external reducing union, cap, frit, 2 ferrules
  • Column, 25 mm x 9.5 mm OD x 6 mm ID, 2 μm frit at 10 mm depth, 1/16"
  • 2 Replacement frits
  • Capillary tubing, 5 cm x 1/16" OD x 0.01"
  • Nuts and ferrules, 10-32 threads for 1/16" tubing, 2 each
  • All hardware is 316 stainless steel

  • Column, 35 mm x 12.75 mm OD x 10 mm ID, 10 μm frit at 20mm depth, 1/16"
  • Capillary tubing, 5 cm x 1/16" OD x 0.02" ID
