Brain PS has been used in lipid standard material preparation,[1] reporter assay[2] and in the preparation of liposomes.[3]

Ações bioquímicas/fisiológicas

Phosphatidylserine is a lipid.[4] It helps to increase the cognitive performance of rats and humans, having different levels of age-dependent memory problems or probable Alzheimer disease. It has the ability to block degeneration of the cholinergic neuronal population of the basal forebrain of aged rats.[4] 90% of the phosphatidylserine decarboxylase activity is linked with mitochondria.[5]
