Thyroglobulin wird für die Aufreinigung und Charakterisierung von Antikörpern verwendet. Thyroglobulin wird in Studien zur Beurteilung der Überwachung von differenziertem Schilddrüsenkrebs eingesetzt und genutzt, um präzise diagnostische Hilfsmittel für Patienten mit autoimmunen Schilddrüsenerkrankungen zu entwickeln.
Wird oft als Träger-Protein für die Produktion von Antikörpern eingesetzt. Sein Vorteil ist die große Zahl von Tyrosinresten, die für die Konjugation in Diazo-Reaktionen verwendet werden können.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Iodine-containing protein that is stored in the thyroid gland. Converted into circulating thyroxines when the thyroid is stimulated by thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) from the pituitary. Because its expression is unique to the thyroid, it is a sensitive indicator of recurrence or metastasis of thyroid cancer that has been treated by thyroid ablation.
