Beschreibung

General description

Ein zellpermeables Flavon, das die Aktivität von 12-Lipoxygenase (IC₅₀ = 120 nmol/l) und reverse Transkriptase hemmt. Schützt kortikale Neuronen vor einer durch β-Amyloid eingeleiteten Toxizität. Reduziert die Leukotrien-Biosynthese und hemmt die Freisetzung von lysosomalen Enzymen. Hemmt auch die zelluläre Ca²⁺-Aufnahme und Mobilisierung sowie die durch Adjuvans eingeleitete Arthritis. Hemmt Berichten zufolge die mikrosomale Lipidperoxidation durch das Bilden von einem Eisen-Baicalein-Komplex. Hemmt die Topoisomerase II und leitet den Zelltod in hepatozellulären Karzinomzelllinien ein. Potenziert die kontraktile Antwort auf eine Nervenstimulation. Hemmt Proteintyrosinkinase und durch PMA stimulierte Proteinkinase C.
