蛋白质测定是生化研究最常见的实验操作之一。二辛可宁酸(BCA)分析中使用了二辛可宁酸溶液，与Lowry蛋白测定法等效。两者都依赖在碱性条件下形成Cu2+-蛋白质复合物，然后将Cu2+还原为Cu1+。还原量与存在的蛋白成正比。BCA测定比缩二脲或Lowry法更灵敏、适用范围更广。
