OBAA is a PLA2 inhibitor

OBAA is a phospholipase A₂ inhibitor and prevents the melittin-induced influx of Ca⁺² in trypanosomes.[1] It inhibits the generation of ROS when epithelial and endothelial cells are treated with cholic acid.[2]

OBAA is a potent inhibitor of phospholipases.
