General description

Platelet-derived chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 7 (CXCL7), also known as neutrophil-activating protein-2 (NAP-2), is a member of a subset of seven chemokines. The protein is produced in platelets[1] and its structure contains an N-terminal glutamate-leucine-arginine (ELR) motif.[2] It acts as a ligand for the CXC chemokine receptor 2 (CXCR2).[3] NAP-2 facilitates the migration of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to the injury site.[1] In addition, it also aids in monocyte recruitment during atherogenesis.[3] The Human NAP-2 enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human NAP-2 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, and urine.
