General description

SunTronic jettable insulator is a UV-curing, inkjet printable insulator coating, suitable for low-K dielectric applications, printed electronics and related applications.
The insulator can be jetted through various piezo DOD inkjet printheads, although full printhead compatibility will need to be verified in each case. The product can be cured using an un-doped medium pressure mercury source. If over printing the dielectric with a SunTronic jettable silver ink then a cure dose of 300 mJ/cm2 is recommended.

Questions

  1. What chemicals (besides acetone, isopropyl) are necessary for cleaning this ink from the nozzles and pipes of the inkjet system?

    1 answer
    1. For a larger printer, an ester solvent, such as Carbitol Acetate, is recommended. This is primarily due to the compatibility with most industrial print-heads. However, this assumes that the ink has not be cured. If the ink is cured, ultrasonic cleaning and back flushing may remove the cured ink. Any light source is to be avoided at all times to prevent curing of the ink in and around the print-head.
