Heart Extract Polar is a natural lipid. Polar Lipid Extract is derived from the total lipid extract by precipitation with acetone followed by extraction of the acetone insoluble material with diethyl ether.

- as a component of lipid mixture for mimicking mammalian cellular membrane and in synchrotron small-angle X-ray diffraction measurements[1]
- for spiking mobilograms for phosphaltidyl choline 18:1/18:1 in ion-mobility spectrometry- time of flight measurements(IMS-TOF)[2]
- in the preparation of large unilamellar vesicles[3]
