フューリンは、カルシウム依存性セリンエンドプロテイナーゼであり、スブチリシン様プロタンパク質／プロホルモンコンバターゼ（PC）ファミリーに属します。[1]フューリンは遍在的に分布しており、トランスゴルジ網、細胞表面およびエンドソームの間を周期的に移動します。[1]

アプリケーション

フューリンインヒビターIIは、フューリン阻害剤として次の用途で使用されています。
  • 非腫瘍原性不死化ヒト顆粒膜細胞株（SVOG）におけるトランスフォーミング増殖因子β1（TGF-β1）誘発性グリア細胞株由来神経栄養因子（GDNF）産生に対するその作用を研究するため。[2]
  • ヒト腎2（HK-2）細胞におけるウシ血清アルブミン（BSA）誘発（プロ）レニン受容体（PRR)切断に対するその作用を研究するため。[3]
  • フューリン切断アッセイに使用。[4]

生物化学的／生理学的作用

フューリンは、骨形成タンパク質4（BMP-4）、インスリン受容体、Notch1受容体などのいくつかのプロタンパク質のプロセシングに関与します。また、ヒト免疫不全ウイルス1（HIV-1）糖タンパク質gp160、いくつかのメタロプロテアーゼ、プロ-β-神経成長（プロ-β-NGF）因子に対するプロセシングにも関与します。また、フューリンは、トランスフォーミング増殖因子β1（TGF-β1）の切断にも関与します。[5]
