Cyclic AMP-responsive element-binding protein 3-like protein 1 (CREB3L1) belongs to the CREB family of transcription factors. It has a bZIP (basic-leucine zipper) domain and a DNA binding domain. The gene encoding this protein is mapped to human chromosome 11 and is expressed in many tissues.

生物化学的/生理学的作用
Cyclic AMP-responsive element-binding protein 3-like protein 1 (CREB3L1) is an unfolded protein response (UPR) transducer. It localizes in the endoplasmic reticulum. In the presence of UPR signaling, CREB3L1 is cleaved and the amino terminal part is translocated to the nucleus. The nuclear part regulates target gene expression. CREB3L1 is involved in the differentiation and development of astrocytes, osteoblasts, odontoblasts, pancreatic beta-cells and large intestine goblet cells.
