Biochem/physiol Actions
VEGF（血管内皮成長因子）は、強力な血管新生サイトカインです。内皮細胞の増殖と移動を刺激します。 VEGFは、小胞液胞オルガネラ（VVO）の機能亢進により、微小血管透過性を誘導します。 VEGFは、正常な血管新生と病理学的な血管新生の両方で重要な役割を果たします。 実質的な証拠は、VEGFが腫瘍転移および眼内血管新生症候群の誘導に関与していることを示唆しています。 VEGFの発現の増加は網膜血管新生を引き起こすため、可溶性VEGF受容体キメラタンパク質を使用したVEGFの阻害は、虚血性網膜疾患の有望な治療法と見なすことができます。 C（-634）GでのVEGF多型は、2型糖尿病の糖尿病性網膜症と関連しています。 VEGF発現量の変化は、関節リウマチ、グレーブス病、乾癬、心血管疾患、および末梢肢疾患とも関連しています。
