The solution stability of this product has not been determined. Some sources indicate that storage at -80°C for 1 year is possible. This product is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. It can be dissolved in 0.1 M sodium acetate at pH 6.0 with a concentration of 5 mg/ml, resulting in a turbid faint yellow/tan solution that may contain insolubles.

エビの殻に由来するキチンはN-アセチルグルコサミン残基がβ-1,4結合で結合した長鎖の高分子であり、これを使用してその物理化学的特性と節足動物の外骨格形成における役割を研究することができます。また、他の種に由来するキチンの構造を研究するための標準物質として、粘性剤/増粘剤またはバインダーとして使用し、キチナーゼおよびキチンデアセチラーゼの同定およびキャラクタリゼーションを行えます。エビの殻に由来するキチンは、キチンによる喘息およびアレルギーの研究に使用されることがあります。

How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.
